Mr. Ray Hojilla
Mr. Hojilla is an educator and trombonist from Port St. Lucie, Florida. He currently holds an associate in arts degree in Music from Indian River State College and a Bachelors in Music Educational Studies from the University of South Florida. Mr. Hojilla has studied trombone with MSG Carlyle Weber, Patrick O'Brian, Jonathan Tang, and Professor Tom Brantley. He has studied Music Education with Ms. Joann Kinder at Southern Oaks Middle School,
Dr. John K. Southall at IRSC, Dr. Tina DiMeglio, Dr. Mathew McCutchen, Dr. Marc Sosnowchick, and Dr. David Williams, at USF.
Mr. Hojilla has served as the brass, visual, and front ensemble instructor at Fort Pierce Central High School for the 2019-2020 season and has worked as a clinician for multiple middle schools bands in St. Lucie and Hillsborough County. Before returning for his Bachelors degree he served as the Interim Director of Bands at Southern Oaks Middle school in Port St. Lucie Florida. Mr. Hojilla has preformed on Tenor and Bass trombone as well as Tuba and Euphonium in multiple ensembles such as, The Holligsworth Winds, Dunedin Concert Band, the 10 O' Clock jazz band, the Clearwater Jazz Band, Pinellas Park Civic Orchestra, Port Saint Lucie Community Band , Stuart Community Band , The Treasure Coast Symphony Orchestra , The USF Symphonic Band , USF Trombone Ensembles (Choir and Octet), as well as the USF Jazz Ensemble II.
Mr. Hojilla completed his internship at A.P. Leto High School where he taught Band, Choir, and AICE Thinking Skills.
Mr. Hojilla Currently serves as the Director of Band and Choir at South Sumter Middle School in Webster Florida where he teaches Band, Choir, and Guitar.
