Four year goal!!!
-
Having a goal is the first step in getting something accomplished. Teaching freshmen is the first rung of the ladder in highschool, especially when teaching Pre-AP English 9. Foundational skills of analysis and exposing students to rich rigorous text keeps me on my toes.
The first nine weeks includes a novel study that brings to life a story of friends, conflict and loyalty. I am also very excited to move into an in-depth study in October of Edgar A. Poe and some of his classic stories. Stay tuned to our journey to meet the goal.
During the second nine weeks, we will be spending time with William Shakespear's works as well as some other great texts. We also are putting serious effort into the Progress Monitoring so data can prove how diligent the students are at improving their education.
After returning from Winter break, we will get down and deep into the writing processes as well as taking an in depth look at what education/employment looks like to teenagers. We will be finishing up the last nine weeks with year-end testing as well as another novel study. This year will fly by when we get our goals accomplished and keep pressing on!
