After reading multiple texts on the topic of "teenagers working in summer" and how having a job shapes who you are, my classes participated in a culminating activity of a Socratic Seminar to share their own views and claims. Using evidence to support their personal viewpoints is a life skill. In this world we live in where everyone feels like their opinion should be heard, it was a moment of learning to see how your opinion holds weight when lined up with a reputable source. A few rabbit trails were encountered, but all in all, they were so good at communicating and allowing others to share. Some adults could take some lessons from the proper way to communicate and be heard.
