After testing we spent our last few weeks with F.Scott Fitzgerald and read the classic The Great Gatsby. Between the characters and how they intertwine, and the figurative language, symbols and multiple themes...we had our work cut out for us. We ended it all with a popcorn and movie showing as well as a puzzle to finish during final exams. My favorite comment from a student was " Mrs. Porvaznik, I loved that story so much and how the movie told it a little differently, so I went home and watched it with my mom and my brother. I had to stop it a few times to explain what things meant and the twist that the author used.We all thought it was great!" This was from one I had to convince more than once to stick with it and finish the book. It is the little things....
